"Hey man, aren't you tired to run?
- What do you mean? What else can we do? Wait for the end?
- Do you want to play one last game of something? Like the good old days back home.
- Yeah, I think I'd like that.
- All we have left is one gun, a bunch of bullets and some paint, let's get to work."

Gameplay

This game is about finishing a game of dominoes before any of the players die.

To win, one player must empty their hand of dominoes three times. It is a best of five game.

To lose, any player has to die before the game is over. To do so, a player can let a zombie eat them, let the other player shoot them to death, or get in a situation where neither player can play dominoes.

To know whose turn it is, look at the bottle. Both players have to draw dominoes at least once for the bottle to know.

To get started, the first domino has to be a double one. You know, like real dominoes.

To shoot at something with the gun, the gun needs to have ammo.

To get more ammo, you can play dominoes from your hand. The last domino in a chain of five will be added to the ammo count as soon as a new domino is played.

Controls

  • Left mouse button to shoot at things with the gun, or generally interact (pick the gun or dominoes, put down the gun or dominoes)
  • Right mouse button to aim
  • Q or E to inspect the table from a bit closer
  • F to toggle the gun's flashlight
  • Spacebar to switch which player is controlled
  • Tab or P to pause the game and get to the options (gamepad aim sensitivity, framerate counter and controls reminder).

Details

This game is made on Unity, and used the FPS Microgame as a starting point.

I used models made by Quaternius (players, gun, zombies), Synty Studios (props, environment), and myself.

This game is not quite done at the moment. A couple of things are on the very serious roadmap:

  • Make something happen when you win the game. I'm thinking a different "lose" screen when you die to keep the theme going really.
  • A big ol' sound design pass. I haven't had to chance to delve in that side of things yet.
  • Quality of life stuff, UI, menus, better feedback.
  • Splitscreen multiplayer. This shouldn't be too hard, I structured things with multiplayer in mind already.
  • Online multiplayer. Honestly I don't know how that will go. I mean, I'll make it work somehow, but I only have experience with the Unity Multiplayer HLAPI, which was already deprecated with nothing official to replace it a handful of years ago when I used it.

Thank you for playing!
